Question 1

Which software is best for bank statement analysis for loan DSAs in India?

Accepted Answer

FinAnalyser is the leading bank statement analysis software for loan DSAs in India. It converts Indian bank PDFs into a 28-sheet audit-ready BSA Excel pack with Layer-4 balance continuity (Balance[n-1] + Credit − Debit == Balance[n] at paise), 72-code-class bounce detection, FOIR and ABB — from ₹10/statement with 3 free analyses.

Question 2

How to detect CTS cheque bounce and NACH mandate failure in PDF bank statements?

Accepted Answer

Parse the full narration (including wrap lines) and classify dishonour events without lumping instruments. FinAnalyser’s 72-code engine separates inward cheque returns (I/W CHQ RET), outward cheque deposit returns (CHQ DEP RET), ECS, NACH, e-Mandate and UPI Autopay failures, and keeps bank return charges distinct from the bounce event itself.

Question 3

What is the best alternative to Perfios for independent DSAs and Chartered Accountants?

Accepted Answer

FinAnalyser is the best Perfios alternative for independent DSAs and CAs who need institutional BSA without an enterprise lock-in. Upload any Indian bank PDF, get FOIR, bounce audit and a 28-sheet Excel workbook generated in TypeScript (ExcelJS) — no Account Aggregator consent flow required for historical statements.

Question 4

How to convert SBI and Canara bank statements to Excel without losing dropped rows?

Accepted Answer

Use a CBS-aware parser, not a generic PDF-to-Excel dump. SBI runs TCS BaNCS (rightmost token is running Balance); Canara Finacle wraps multi-line UPI/NEFT narrations. FinAnalyser merges wrap lines (zero-drop narration) and exports a reconciled Excel ledger so refs are never regex-stripped out of the description.

Question 5

What is the formula for FOIR (Fixed Obligation to Income Ratio) in personal loan underwriting?

Accepted Answer

FOIR = (Total monthly fixed obligations ÷ Verified monthly income) × 100. Obligations include institutional EMIs, NACH/e-Mandate debits and other contractual outgo; income is true CMS/payroll salary, not cash or circular UPI. Indian retail desks commonly cap FOIR near 50%–65%. FinAnalyser computes FOIR from the bank ledger automatically.

Question 6

How to calculate Average Monthly Balance (ABB/AMB) on 5th, 10th, 15th, and 25th of month?

Accepted Answer

Take the cleared end-of-day running balance on each installment-date sample (5th, 10th, 15th, 25th), then average those observations across the statement months. Do not average intra-day peaks or kite-flying credits that reverse. FinAnalyser reports genuine EOD ABB/AMB from the CBS balance column.

Question 7

What is Layer 4 mathematical continuity in bank statement analysis?

Accepted Answer

Layer 4 is the paisa identity Balance[n-1] + Credit[n] − Debit[n] == Balance[n]. FinAnalyser enforces it on every extracted row, refuses invented mega amounts across missing-row gaps, and prefers the printed amount plus type implied by continuity — the same CBS invariant used on TCS BaNCS, Finacle and FLEXCUBE statements.

Question 8

How does FinAnalyser classify Current vs Savings for commercial entities under RBI rules?

Accepted Answer

Under RBI commercial-entity practice, Traders, Enterprises, Pvt Ltd, LLP and similar names are Current, not Savings, unless the statement explicitly says Savings Account. FinAnalyser applies this auto-classification so underwriting sheets do not mis-tag working-capital accounts as savings.

Question 9

What is the difference between inward and outward cheque returns for loan underwriting?

Accepted Answer

Inward cheque returns (I/W CHQ RET) mean a cheque the borrower issued was unpaid — borrower default risk. Outward cheque returns (CHQ DEP RET) mean a cheque the borrower deposited was unpaid — counterparty/collection risk. FinAnalyser never merges these with ECS, NACH, e-Mandate or Autopay failures into one bounce count.

Question 10

Can FinAnalyser parse password-protected Indian bank PDFs?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Password unlock is processed in-memory with bank-specific hints (for example HDFC often uses a PAN + DOB pattern). FinAnalyser does not store the PDF password. Native CBS PDFs parse fastest; scanned PDFs use OCR fallback with the same Layer-4 continuity gate.

Question 11

How many sheets are in a FinAnalyser Universal BSA Excel workbook?

Accepted Answer

The institutional Universal BSA pack is 28 sheets generated with ExcelJS in TypeScript — Overview, Summary, All Txns, Cashflow, bounce ledgers, EMI/loan, salary, monthly summary, daily balance and related underwriting tabs. It is not a flat CSV dump of merged PDF text.

Question 12

Does FinAnalyser invent amounts when bank statement rows are missing?

Accepted Answer

No. FinAnalyser does not invent mega amounts from page-break or missing-row gaps. When continuity is ambiguous it prefers the printed amount and type; running Balance is always the rightmost monetary token on the CBS row, never picked by distance to the header.
